The included TX-50U wireless temperature sensor monitors your backyard temperature.
The Secure Weather Gateway connects to your network router with the included LAN cable to send secure wireless forecasts to the display - 24 hours a day without turning on a TV or computer. A wireless range of 330 feet allows you to put the display device almost anywhere you want. A PC is only required for one-time easy set-up or to customize features. High-speed Internet and network router are required.
Weather Direct® allows you to select free forecast information from over 60,000 locations in the United States and Canada including your hometown, golf courses, parks, sports venues and more. You can change the location as many times as you like. You’ll receive forecasts for the current day and up to three succeeding days, plus micro forecasts for morning, afternoon, evening and night. The station also displays the current indoor and outdoor backyard temperature, plus the daily sky condition and hi/low temperatures.
Expansion options offered at weatherdirect.com add enhanced functionality to your Weather Display forecaster. Expansion options include additional forecast locations, severe weather alerts and more.
Weather Direct® requires a high speed (broadband) Internet connection. The WD-3312U-Cherry includes a Gateway that connects to weatherdirect.com. You don’t need a wireless router and the display unit is never physically connected to your computer. A PC is only required for one-time easy set-up or to customize features. The included Gateway connects to your Internet router with the supplied LAN cable and receives electrical power by the supplied AC power adaptor. The Gateway wirelessly transmits information to the display unit, with a range of up to 300 feet.
